Last two days I wandered the southern sides of the mentioned three beauties. Originator j. nasmeh

Something general about conditions.
Roads. To the quarry maybe even better variant right first turn by Bistrica and then around. About the road to Markova ravn legends will form in time. Variant under slopes of Kamniški vrh is cleared of landslides in some places just enough for car to pass. Can be half-hour independent car trip velik nasmeh

Left junction under LK in Mokrica nature has really taken almost everything back since my last visit. Above nice natural passage then well traceable. Areas above Debeli hrib wonderful. Crossing over notch (as j. mentions) half done. Higher above it another cut passage visible. If in doubt - to Planina Košutna at the end always upwards elevation-wise. Grazing on both alms. Spring nicely flowing, useful. Passage through Dedec really cleverly laid and trodden. Similarly higher part towards Planina Košutna from saddle on. If looking downwards - barricade across livestock path (Košutna - Koren), not across entrance to hunting path (left). Very nice seemed to me the descent through torrent valley/gully directly under Planina Koren. Below at junction of path to Dedec cairn. Transverse path from saddle at Dedec towards LK under Mokrica first fifteen minutes fiddly, then easier passable. Along paths we meet numerous locals. Yesterday chamois female sharply warned me with whistling as calf had trouble following retreat. Today strong roe deer buck decided we talk loudly for ten minutes. He barked, I in Slovenian, at end we agreed we want each in own direction mežikanje

So, piece of wonderful southern slopes of this area behind me. Connections, passages and ideas still dozens. Let remain for another visit. Safe on paths! lp

Today at 7:15 am two consecutive bangs heard from Kompotela summit, like explosions somewhere in distance. Anyone know what happened?

Firefighters were there (1 pm when I was up by bike) at hut in Kamniška Bistrica!?? Maybe connection with that??

Picking up another "mountain gentleman" nasmeh

in KB and we drive along a fairly nice gravel road through Brsniks to the "quarry" and then further along the hunting path to Medvedja Cave and onwards to Mokrica - Kompotela - Vrh Korena - Košutna and descent via Pl. Košutna and past Dedec to the devastated Korošica valley. eek

when the snow melts, the alpine bellflower awakens

With a bit of delay (computer repair) here's my view of this wonderful hill excursion. Boštjan said 'early hour, golden hour' - well, we had a wooden one, so we also got a bit of rain. He found a super road access, since the classic one through Korošica valley will never be possible again. For me quite a long tour with tiring descent, but no heat.

I see that time passes quickly. Two years ago here, today it's my turn for a steamy eight-hour loop. The road through Korošica is (as written) closed, you have to go around to the Predoselj junction. Then from the quarry with quite some difficulty through the left variant (there's more missing below and probably there won't be more) to LK, then over the highest level of the three variants to the descent to Ovčarija, and steeply through standard passages and desert sand velik nasmeh

to Mokrica ridge. The nicest part of the tour followed, where Zlatko skillfully executed a variant of what Volk somewhere describes as - in his own way back to Debeli hrib. Then came the continuation through the notch and then the pastures Košutna and Koren. We did the descent nicely directly past the cirque, refreshed at the spring and past the devastated Matkova plain headed back to the car. Really beautiful places, though wild, are led in a loop and loop. We'll come again. lp
p.s. higher up the road to Markova plain is already repaired, but more for high MTB variant.

In his own way he guessed the return loop well. Ugh, those are steep slopes.

21.6.2024 Mokrica and the rest with andi2 (some already described above - andi2 )
Today's tour took quite some energy from me. Especially then this long descent from Planina Koren. But we had fun. cool

Despite heat, obscured views and desert sand in eyes, between teeth velik nasmeh

Road to quarry took some nerves (car is new with 2500km) I felt sorry for it!!
When we park, nice path surprises me, winding slowly uphill in shady forest and not strenuous. Then the "left variant" got complicated zmeden

Path completely disappears and for some hundred meters it's gone (storms). We manage to find it and then to hunting hut nicely traceable. From here continue above Medvedja Cave (we last saw it in 2022). When we spot meadows toward saddle where marked path goes, both immediately study the ascent. This part was hardest for me. Steep, sun, hot, Saharan sand between teeth velik nasmeh

We descend along ridge to Mokrica summit and back. Study traverse (lower than little p.) to cut bushes on other side. Just chamois entering the cleared path. Follows again long grassy traverse leading to next ascent (cross on top). Descent to Košutna and then marked to Planina Koren. Here short break, drink (paid honestly!!).
Follows descent through broken gully and descent, descent without end to start. Here we wash, change and again torture my new car to asphalt mrk pogled
