Today despite a slightly worse weather forecast I visited this peak above Kofce planina. Snow was hard and not icy. Track was snowed over in some places. Strong wind was blowing on the top. Few visitors to the peak but quite a few reach the hut.

Hi! I don't know, nothing was trodden so we didn't decide for Veliki vrh. We already broke trail to Kofce gora. Bye!.

Today from Matizovec to Planina Kofce and along ridge to Kofce peak. Planned Veliki vrh too but strong wind gusts and poorly trodden path stopped me. Quite cold but cloudless, wonderful views.

I was also there with the group today on Kofce Mountain but then we continued to Veliki vrh because six ahead of us had nicely trodden it. Wind was really strong but the rest was dreamy.

On Saturday and today I was on Šmarna gora and from there Kofce gora and Veliko kladivo look like this. The picture is from Saturday.

Yesterday I started from Dolina. The steep and icy-in-places path to Kal is much more snow-free than a good week ago. Further towards Kofce, the path is snow-covered all the way, gaiters not needed yet. Further the story changes. Above the cross, crampons joined the gaiters and the ascent to Košuta began. The Kofce gora ridge with a narrow, barely trodden path leads to the summit; great caution is needed. Towards Veliki vrh, the ridge path is still not trodden, to Kladivo though.

Sunday morning hinted at a nice day, but only when approaching Tržič did we see how clear it was. We drive towards Kofce, then on foot right to pl. Šija and up the slope to Kladivo. Incredibly warm, like last November, under us a sea of clouds covering Lj. & Gorenjska basin. We met some hikers, on the top of Kladivo alone. Also surrounding peaks towards Košutnik turn were deserted. We have time, so we enjoy views to Triglav and far into sunny Austria. Descent to M. Kladivo and on to Kofce gora, on the ridge a cold SE wind accompanies us, but quickly over and then only late-afternoon lunch on Kofce, which was excellent. Nothing beats jota and štruklji..

The trail to Kofce gora is well trodden, by noon it had softened and slush was forming. With my daughter we continued to Kladivo, where it was more wind-packed and therefore even more pleasant for walking, of course with crampons. On the way back we didn't descend directly down the snowy slope due to avalanches, just in case. We went back the same trail nicely. No people on Kladivo, quite a few on Veliki vrh.
