Janče (792m)

Since it's nice sunny weather outside, my soles are itching. In the coming days, I plan to head towards Janče. Specifically, I'd take the place Laze (train station) as the starting point. I'm mainly interested in the current passability of this path and the ascent time. If anyone has any information about it, I recommend myself.

Thanks already in advance nasmeh

Yesterday I finally went on the long-planned tour to Janče. The starting point was the railway station in Laze pri Dolskem. The first 20 minutes surprise you with a decent steep incline, where it almost bites into the knees. But when the path joins the macadam, it becomes pleasant. I made it to the top, where a phenomenal view awaited me, in 1h 30min. I absolutely recommend the trip nasmeh

How about dogs? Above the steep section, the path goes through a yard with two loose dogs. Higher up, they also have a dog (once I met two dogs there), which was loose. I was a bit scared alone and once sought suitable detours to avoid the dogs.

The other path variant from Laze (adventure in the wilderness) is an unmarked path and off-trail along the Gostinca stream - sometimes the path is wet below, otherwise branches limit the path. When you can't go further, you find a passage to the track right above the stream on pathless steep slope.

On the websites of the Regional Development Agency of the Ljubljana Urban Region, I accidentally came across a path description to Janče in their guide, which includes descent into the Gostince hollow (Guide.pdf).

Given that the guide describes the descent into Gostinca, I'm interested if this path is marked in nature and what kind of path it is (cart track, forest track, footpath...)? Also, if someone can tell me where from Janče the path to gostinca branches off, as I didn't notice the branch on the terrain. Thanks

Soon planning a hike to Janče. Interested in path marking and idea for some interesting circular or level combination. I already have one mežikanje somehow in my head but every suggestion would be welcome and maybe I will still change the realization...Lp

By train to Jevnica, then descent to Litija. Wonderful circular tour, which I'll most likely repeat very soon.

Or maybe from Litija past Šmartno to Bogenšperk and along Badjurova to Janče - if you're up for slightly longer wandering.mežikanje Down along the mentioned to Litija or nearest to Jevnica or maybe straight along Badjurova to Dolsko, where you can catch the train again. Maybe it grabs you so that later you do the remaining 2/3 of Badjurova path (total over 90 km). In any case this will be wandering with "ajzenponar" flair.jezik

A real wandering with ajzenponar flair is also from Litija to Čatež. By train to Litija, then descent to Šentlovrenc, where we wait for 500-year-old train coming from Črnomelj or Metlikavelik nasmehnasmeh. In short, real wandering like in old times.velik nasmehcoolnasmeh

Can't wait already.velik nasmehnasmeh

By the way, this year's wandering will be 09 October, year of our Lord 2013.nasmehmežikanje

Three suggestions, first variant somewhat too short... second interesting but suitable only to Jevnica - Dolsko... Badjurova extension maybe for forum colleague who is currently struggling with SPP, when he successfully does regeneration - fingers crossed he succeeds the feat and third also worth considering, although so far to Dolenjska I don't have yet mežikanje in plan for now... Interesting suggestions, each nice in its own way...Lp

Yesterday a group of 20 hikers went from Jevnica to Janče. We had a wonderful winter day. Conditions for walking were pleasant, at the top by the hut it was blowing, so we hid inside. There we were impressed by the friendliness of other guests and staff. We were a group and had several children. They immediately cleared a couple tables for us so we could sit as a group. Otherwise it was pleasantly warm in the hut.

And what do 2 meters change... With heights it's like that, different sources report heights differently. All that is still somewhere within the standard error. Probably two meters mean something to surveyors, to us hiking/walking/running (cycling...) enthusiasts probably nothing. Yeah, beautiful is the world of Janče and surroundings, at the ,,crossroads,, of numerous connections... Lp

Janče, 794 m high peak near Ljubljana, super views in today's winter fairy tale.... in Ljubljana there was fog all day. Children and parents enjoyed winter joys, sledding, building snowmen, others enjoyed walking. Possible accesses from Litija, Jevnice, Zalog, but that one is quite long, of course we can get closer by car, to some starting points by train. Views were wonderful today, from Snežnik to Triglav and Kamniške gore as on the palm of the hand. Today descent towards Volavlje, Prežganje, Trebeljevo, then to Mali vrh and on the other side to Višnja gora...

Yesterday (Monday, 6 April) up the gully of Gradolski stream almost to the source below village Tomaž, then left uphill to Vnajnarji and a bit further to the hill Mali Brovec and approximately the same way back.

The cart track zigzagging under the gully once on one side, once on the other side of the stream, gradually disappears. After about a kilometre the gully becomes narrower, darker, maybe a bit eerie for a solo hiker in the late afternoon. The cart track disappears there, here and there a faintly trodden path can be noticed. Despite the dry period I stepped annoyingly into mud several times. Around fallen logs I walked sometimes on the left, other times on the right side of the stream, crossing it at least 15 times. On the western side of the gully steep slopes of Murjevka, on the eastern less steep meadows of Mali and Veliki Kajert (where does this name come from?). A kilometre further, under Grmadnik the gully widens a bit, the cart track reappears, under hamlet Tomaž it becomes quite wide, almost a forest road. There it joins the Borovničeva trail, which I followed to Vnajnarji, then left on the road to Mali Brovec (610m). In the distance Janče visible, from Vnajnarji to home probably not much more than an hour's walk. Returned approximately the same path.

Gully (perhaps small valley) of Gradolski stream wild, obviously rarely visited, solitary. Inaccessibility and primitivity further emphasized by numerous fallen trees lying everywhere. Met almost no one, on return think heard jackal bark, some roe deer curiously watched me. Almost in the dark reached the car, where in deep dark valley from behind trees high under Kajertoma full moon greeted me.

Access: by car at hamlet Gradovlje right into gully of Gradolski stream, past house (on Pešpoti.si marked as Boškaj), where road goes between building and farm building and ends (hope not private land, nothing marked). Drove on cart track a few hundred meters further where parked (46.070497°, 14.651524°). Total about 12 km, 350m up and down, approximately 3 hours.

*********
Addition: access obviously over private land! See note below!

The old but solidly built bridge at the start suggests the importance of the cart track.1
After about a kilometer the cart track gradually fades away.2
Numerous uncleared fallen trees create a sense of isolation and inaccessibility.3
Detail from the path.4
At Vnajnarji, however, brilliantly sunny.5
Artificial pond below Vnajnarji.6
Spring colors below the hamlet Tomaž.7

The described access should be taken with a grain of salt. Maybe in my case it was just chance or really bad luck to run into a grumpy house owner on the wrong day. Personally, he didn't let me even walk past the house. To avoid an argument, I preferred to turn back. I did the gully tour later in the descent direction (loop from Podgrad).

Anže, thanks for the note! When I read your comment, I checked the cadastre to see if there is a road there. Along the whole valley there is a narrow parcel owned by RS. But probably it's just the stream, which is public property, and not the path or road... On pešpoti.si it is drawn as a road, further as a path. Similar on the map of the Ljubljana surroundings. Pity, but I actually understand the owner.

How did you pass by the house when you went in the opposite direction?
