lynx, sorry for ignorance I don't understand this sentence of yours. True no one forces you to read, but still sometimes you read one and before you realize it's one big spoiler, it's too late. What big spoiler, what is that?

Spoiler is maybe "kvarnik" in Slovenian? Short movie trailers are often crappy because full of spoilers and reveal too much story. They kill the experience, in this case the exploratory potential. Given that many of our "pathless" are well-trodden paths with sawn bushes or even markers, I can't fully agree there's not too much traffic. But of course thin line if we don't want old paths to overgrow completely.

Dprapr, bravo from my side too. And since you tease with the word about the very nice ridge approach to Luknja peč, I'd ask about its difficulty (more than II)? Anyway those ends are a bit known to me too and I must add that the royal stage of PP path up there is still one of the nicest tours in Julijci overall! About threatening pathless routes. I always find it interesting when debate turns to this. I'm also a sworn pathless guy, because this way of visiting mountains seems most authentic to me. But don't misunderstand. I have nothing against markers. I too started discovering mountains that way. Then wilderness took me. Not someone else. And that's fine. To each his own. Important is satisfaction from the experience, which is subjective. In wall, pathless, marked summit or hike. But true, we mountaineers are huge egos. And that's why so much (unnecessary) friction. Heh. To meet someone in some 'real' pathless... Well, for some pathless is already trodden path through Repov kot. Best regards.

On Skutnik and Špičica e.g., really hard to meet anyone up there. On Obljak, stone's throw away, no crowds either. On Griva, stone's throw other way, haven't met anyone yet. And there are countless such corners - everyone has his own somewhere in a special spot under the ribs recorded

Volk, the ascent to Luknja peč doesn't exceed II. degree! The most "scary" is the crossing from the notch to the wall right (pic 7), but no way exceeds that degree. Since you mentioned Repov kot, on Friday I didn't meet anyone there either. Maybe missed someone, fog was such I even missed the turn to Zeleniške špice. Since it started lightly raining, I continued to Planjava on nice trodden path. Otherwise first time around there! Best

Hello, can anyone advise a faster and easier access to Dimniki summit from Kot valley? Is the easier path via saddle between Dimniki and Macesnovec or via window, i.e. saddle between Luknja peč and Dimniki?

Through the window it's a stroll. From saddle between Macesnovec and Dimniki you climb!

Thanks. Is there perhaps a path directly from Krma?

Strongly not recommended...

From Krma it's probably the easiest, but it's the exact opposite of "direct".

There is no path from Krma to Macesnovec!

lynx probably meant the nice path from Kot, right?

No, I meant for Dimniki (via Temena), which was the original question.

To resolve the dilemma right away... There is no direct path from Krma to Dimniki, nor a path to Macesnovec from which one can then ascend to Dimniki. Of course one can go over Teme, but then it's no longer direct, as you cross the J slopes of Rjavina and ascend past Žaga to the ridge and main summit of Dimniki. Descend the same path or through the window along the ledge to Kot, another option is to find anchors for descent in the northern slope of Luknja peč and descend three times on rope to the ledge. There is also a descent directly to Krma (from Macesnovec) but it is strongly not recommended. I prefer not to describe it here. The descent runs constantly on rope. If you really want direct from Krma to Dimniki you'll need to wait for winter and favorable conditions! Best regards

That detail on the 29th picture has nice holds, just a bit hollow. Nice pictures, even better tour!
