More of us, nicer to hoist the new flag on top. Fine by me, we'll change it midweek. Sunday I was at the top at 6:45 and tea in the hut at 7:20. Met a Branko at the top who came from Kupčin Peak. Wind was blowing like hell.

OK I'll let you know today which day Wednesday or Thursday. We were also up there Sunday half hour after you but didn't stop at the hut. That'll be even nicer because Sunday visitors will already see the new flag, can't wait.

Pišta and I agreed for Thursday at 14:30 at the top, write if the time suits and if we need any tools. Weather forecast is good.

Here it is, what had to happen. Down with shame! Donačka Mountain is the easternmost mountain in Slovenia and as such a symbolic bulwark against all bad stuff blowing in from the Balkans. It deserves to have the Slovenian flag flying on its summit, one we're proud of and that everyone will recognize, even those watching from Croatian Medvednica (or wherever).
And no better day than today, the birthday of the father of the Slovenian anthem. The most deserving "lajcicar" and helpers "stankoju", "pištaJL" and "šerpa" solemnly, at 15.00, removed the old and installed the new, even larger Slovenian flag.
The owner of the old flag can show up here to arrange the handover ;-)))

Sadly I couldn't make it either.
But one day I was surprised to discover that "Himalayans" also visit our mountain, namely on the eastern peak they set up a marker reminiscent of Buddhist prayer flags from the Himalayas. Obviously our climate is a bit too warm for them, since they left a thick pullover right at the "shrine".
If the owner doesn't come forward, I'll kindly remedy the matter on occasion or in plain terms clean up the mess!

Today checked the state of the new flag and found we secured it quite well, otherwise the path is already quite slippery so caution is not superfluous.
