... otiv if we had extended the path a bit more, we would have met.... grinhorn thanks, yes you can make a really tough tour even lower. When we're tuned for speed at home, we do the same path in four hours too but that variant is only for different kinds of "pleasures". Dobrovlje is a beautiful plateau so it's a shame to rush and not look around.

@Bbrina, I'd gladly extend to Letuš, I've done it several times in the opposite direction, just no time on Saturday. Better a little than nothing.

Correct is Brezovec 857 m - at least on three special maps it says so.

Probably Brezovec is indeed correct, yes on maps it says so. However on all signposts and also on the hunting hut it says Bezovec and locals use that. But thanks for the note anyway. In the late afternoon I went to check if the teloh was already blooming and it was. The path was mostly dry, at least where I went. On the small saddle below the summit there are still snow patches, which surprised me.

No, "sad for a local girl", my brother scolded me today when he led me on a path to Brezovec-Dobrovlje still unknown to me; we had to take advantage of the beautiful morning forecast after long "power outage", with clear blue sky and yes, the beautiful tour enthused me for repetitions; especially nice now in these spring days, with numerous colorful flowers, light green budding in the forest and beautiful views into the valley - this time rightly "green valley"; Ojstrica hid from us in clouds, but therefore the view to the valley was so much nicer, and nearby Gora Oljko, Partizanski vrh, Čemšeniško, also Menino and in background Velika Planina and even Boč in distance; blooming dandelion grassy carpet which upon emerging from the forest first drew a sigh of admiration from me, but up close sadly disappointed me, as owner sprayed it generously with not fragrant bio-fertilizer to the hut, so we didn't linger much at top; oh, started from Zg. Gorč; LP

Early this morning I went to check the other end of our valley, that's Bezovec. Of course everything was visible nicely and clearly. The sunrise was again beautifully colored. Paths are of course a bit slippery and nicely covered with leaves.

H. Benda Then left, instead into Žagarjev graben. Past the shrine on the rock and along the ridge on. Past Sv. Urban to Dom borcev. Continuation on the path towards the chapel Sv. Janez and Pavel. Shortcut into the right flank and then to marked into Žagarjev graben. Fog, muddy paths, met no one. Saturday morning lp

Dobrovlje is super. My favorite path is Nazarje, along Savinja to Loke, to Ojstra peč and further along short ridge over Loška gora, then quickly by road to sv. Urban and further towards Čreta, to NOB monument, Mother of God and back to valley along marked path past Završnik, into Črni graben and back to Nazarje. This plateau offers plenty of joy, from marked and unmarked paths, pathless terrain, valleys, gullies, demanding and undemanding rock jumps and also short or long road paths. In short, as a local from Nazarje I say for myself that I discovered all my love for hiking here and every time again I'm enthusiastic.

Is that then Ojstra peč, where on the rock is logbook and shrine? And the name "graben" interests me. Is it named Črni or Žagarjev (after Žagerjev vrh 568m asl) lp

Ojstra peč is like a subpeak of Loška gora, a hill whose official name I don't know. There is a shrine. Žagarjev graben is the ridge between Loška gora and Žagerjev vrh. The graben is marked with markers of the European long-distance trail. Žagerjev vrh is wooded and has a transmitter on it. It is on the right side if you go up the Žagarjev graben. Črni graben is the graben between Čreta and Dobrovlje and leads from the Nazarje direction. It is like a canyon. A forest road runs through it, a marked path Nazarje-Čreta crosses it, it is full of steep slopes and pathless terrain.

In the last two weeks multiple times back and forth across Dobrovlje plateau from Vransko/Braslovče side. Not much to add - well marked paths, good roads and nicely traceable unmarked paths are the beauty of this area; silence and peace characteristic of forest parts and lesser known peaks. Weather from snow storm, thick fog, to beautiful sunny views far around. Views rare, where they are, awesome Interesting constant combo of chapels and NOB monuments. Above issues practically cleared. Brezovca summit torn up by tree falls. Snow above 850m and shady spots, doesn't hinder off-trail either. Some peak and hidden paths later...

When I look at the first page I see I haven't been to Žovnek castle since 2009. Castle with rich history, left to decay for long years. The castle ruins are being nicely renovated and getting a completely different look than years ago. To the castle there are still footprints in the snow, then with Milan we wandered around Dobrovlje mostly in fog. We made quite a big loop. Snow up to half a meter, use of gaiters recommended. Friendly face too, as every farmyard crossing involves a house guardian. Shaggy guardians luckily friendly, no problems (except mandatory sniffing) . Part of the path on marked trails and made a track, some as usual completely our own way. Just before the end of the path we met PD Nazarje mates, that was all we met today on the "path". Walked a bit more than 12 km in 4:20 h. lp

Nice, as a lover of castles and old, architecturally interesting objects, it makes me happy to see the progressing renovation .

Morning boredom chased with walk on Dobrovlje plateau. From Letuš drove another 2 km up. Then marked path past Firefighters' Home (former Home of Fighters 1st Sav. unit). Across farmyard and down to macadam road on marked to chapel Janez and Pavel. Soon off marked my way to chapel. Cross sinkholes, forest clearings, over fallen logs remains of windthrow. At chapel turn and back on marked. Too little walking, go right to Jug. At farmyard under Jug, a four-legged creature that looks like a rottweiler scares me. Used to Dobrovlje dogs off leash. This one made me think. Luckily the lady from farm came out and allowed crossing "his" terrain. Next time lower... Past Jug then macadam road past "new" kite takeoff. Soon at car. Walking time cca. 3 hours and a bit over 11km. Half on unmarked paths or off-trail. Temp at start around 9 -1.5C, valley -2.5C. Return at start +1.5C valley +2.5C. No mud on clearings, frozen. lp
