Somewhere I came across that we Slovenians know around 120 names for narcissus. Could you help me find them? So far I've come across:

narcisa
ključavnica
bedenica
bedenka

Yes Wolfgang, you saw it right. Urbanščica or also vrbanščica is what residents on the southern side of Vremščica call narcissi. Vrbanka or also Urbanka in Košanska valley, on the eastern side of that mountain. Both names derive from the name of St. Urban, to whom the little church on the eastern summit of Vremščica is dedicated. Locals also call the summit of Vremščica Sv. Urban or Sv. Vrban.

On the saddle below Krempa, where the narcissus site is, I read on the info board some Slovenian names for narcissus not mentioned here yet: binkoštnica, medenica...

Since we're already on this topic, by the way, does anyone know why they are also called ključavnice?velik nasmehmežikanje

It says on the picture. Because bees can't get to it.
But it seems to me that you, hribovc88, have something up your sleeve.nasmeh

Another similar explanation:

...but older people explained to me where this name comes from. We all know bees are diligent and hardworking insects, but God punished their diligence because they gathered honey even on Sundays. Right under the stamens he made little tufts and locked the sweet honey from them. Hence the name ključavnice!

But it seems to me too that Hribovc88 is testing us a bit mežikanjenasmeh

I heard somewhere that they are called locks because they "open" spring.
