Well, now even that is paid... Damn, will they now charge for every meter...?

Marjan, the parking lots across the street from that parking lot are free, just a bit farther to walk

ppegan, do you mean those parking lots along the road further from Jasna towards Vršič?

Yes, that one. At least in summer they were still free.

Currently the large parking lot behind the police station at the ski resort is also free.

I parked there today where @bagi did last time, and it was also free, at least no notice on the windshield , otherwise top views today and at the top short sleeves.

Interesting that nobody complains when paying and getting parking fees in cities. Only at trailheads to the mountains it bothers you.

I agree. Just today I paid at Prtovč for Ratitovec. I didn't mind. Never for mountains. For Ljubljana every cent hurts.

Those not bothered by paying parking used to drive to Blato already at three in the morning before the barrier was set up when no warden was there. They said because in summer you need to go early before the heat. Since the barrier they walk again at nine in the morning, like before

If needed to pay, you just pay, can't go around it, if some complain about it, doesn't bother me. Someone always bothered by everything you write here. Interesting comparison with Dolomites, where I've been several times - also last year - at many trailheads at passes no need to pay parking, of course in cities yes. And now someone will say - then go to Dolomites?

Seems many would agree if they introduced paying for air...

Felix, I completely agree with you, some are bothered by everything you write here. Paying for parking doesn't bother me either, but if I have the choice of a paid parking lot and a free one 50 meters away from the paid one, I'll always choose the free one, I'm that much of a Gorenjka. Where I have to pay (e.g. parking for Blato), I pay without problems. If I go to the city, it's for an hour or two, which amounts to e.g. 2-4 eur (in Kranj the first two hours are even free on some parkings). But if you park at the starting point for the hills, where the tour is several hours long, the amount quickly goes over 10 eur and it's logical to rather park where it's free. Isn't it?

Paying for air? Why not, if it's quality. Some just don't want to understand that by paying for parking many things get arranged, in the end also an arranged parking lot and much more that the environment we visit and burden day by day needs. Sadly those times are gone when we could park free right under Aljažev dom in Vratih, in Tamarju, in Logarski, at lower cable car station on Jezerskem, in Martuljku at ogljarju,..., and I completely understand the current generation that misses all that. Sadly progress brings also limitations you experience in the hills. But without them there would be chaos at such frequent visits to certain areas, which we probably don't want. I myself last time when with a colleague visited Rigljico, parked there at the arranged parking by lake Jasna and paid quite a bit on return. It didn't spoil the tour at all. We could debate that the parking fee is too high, but where is it different. Yes, Prtovč is cheap, I agree with dragon. When returning from tours, you don't think about how much you paid for a beer or two that benefited you less than that parking fee before a good tour. Why the moaning then? Let things finally get arranged, and it'll be nicer for everyone. Without contributions from mountain visitors probably not. In Vratih, we see that something is already happening.

Not one asked about conditions, debate only around parking fee, as if on some other forum...

From now on certain starting points will be closed to traffic, which will extend the planned tour for many or even deter them from it. Public transport usually runs too late, i.e. is poorly organized where it already is. Not only visitors will suffer, mountain huts will have less visits due to such measures.

Capraibex, new measures will surely again open choleric comments and lower the debate level on the forum. Until then enjoy and no panic.

One such a bit more silly question - are little crampons enough for Ciprnik?
