Afternoon Brana (14.10.20)

After work at 14.30 from KB quickly to the saddle. Up to here it was already trampled, but here and there annoyingly sinking. Prepare winter gear and in the wind to the shady north part, where there was no wind due to the westerly barrier. A little trace was visible from someone's morning ascent. Ascent as in winter the descent variant right of the rock. Currently not much snow, so the summer normal variant is feasible. It was nice, especially towards the orange sunset. Descent via that last-mentioned path (summer). From the shepherds onwards with headlamps quickly to the valley.

Hello,

I'm interested in the crossing path from Koča pod slapom Rinka to Brana. Are crampons needed?

Again to Brana.
Jermanca, Kamniško sedlo and to the top.
Paths as usual, under Brana there's still a snowfield about 50 m long.
Can avoid it via lower path.
Weather great, also saw a large herd of chamois.
In the hut they say much fewer visitors than last year.

Bosova grapa. Charming approach for an experienced off-trail hiker whose hair is already graying, but whose step still flies.
The crossing radiates something special that fills the 'emptiness' ...

After a long time, I too am sharing a post. On Saturday 10.7.2021 I was on Brana. Conditions except for 10 meters of snow crossing (as Tinky already wrote, you can avoid it via the lower variant) have no special features. Maybe just mention that it would be good to renew or add markings. big grin

Today up past Okrešelj to Kotliče. From there left and along the marked path to the top. Descent via secured path. wink
In Boštjanci no more snow, but still on pathless access to Kotliče and that caused us some trouble.rolling eyes
Quite a few visitors...smile

I made a detour much higher and arrived almost at the edge of Kotliče. Crumbly, not recommended.7

In the afternoon via Kaptana to Brana, didn't go via Kamniško sedlo. It seemed I'd be faster via Kaptana so put on helmet and up. Fog protected me from the sun. Sometimes it cleared a bit, even more at the top. Descent Kamniško sedlo and via scree back through bushes ...they trimmed it a bit and it was easier.

Road to Jermanca already has some bigger potholes and of course gravel in bends due to wheels spinning empty. Path to saddle and Brana without issues.

Today's Brana in wonderful weather. Only in the company of a few chamois and a couple of young ones. Traverse to Brana is snowy (mostly from south).
