On St. Sylvester's afternoon mežikanje hiking from Podboč starting point circular variant in Boč & Plešivec landscape park and connection of three highest peaks - or as in landscape park in clockwise direction namely: Plešivec 822 m.a.s.l. - Boč 978 m.a.s.l. - Dreveniška gora 782 m.a.s.l. into unified whole along one shorter line and finally descent to Poljčane.

GPS:Boč & Plešivec & Dreveniška gora, 31.12.2011

Terrain frozen and partially snowy and icy in some parts. Met quite a few Boč visitors mainly around tower on Boč. First time did this variant with connection of three main peaks on Boč and mežikanje last day of year also suitable - and maybe repeat sometime with some small path correction.

Health, luck and ALL THE BEST in year 2012....

Regards bruny

nasmehTo Boč from Studenice to Gavez farm, hunters' hut of Rogaška Slatina hunters and along marked - signed ,,traverse,, under hunters' hut to climbing area on Boč and then descent via Formila clearing and hunters' cabin LD Poljčane at Golnik back to Studenice.

Path route:Boč from Studenice, 01.02.2012

Transverse connection was much more visited three-four decades ago, while today mainly hunters walk it. Triangle hunters' hut LD Rogaška Slatina - climbing area - Formila clearing and especially transverse connection is one of most pronounced frost hollows on entire Boč with surroundings due to enclosed position. Also today cold and some older hikers and hunters call this part ,,Boč Siberia,,. After snowfall three days ago I expected to be first to step on transverse connection and it was so. Conditions for walking today idyllic - 2.3 cm dry snow perfect for pleasant ,,crackling,, under Salomon shoes, sharp frost and cold northeast wind excellent accompaniment on first February day...

Yes, photos are nice but mežikanje taken already before 2.2.2012 and do not reflect mežikanje current or actual situation on Boč...

@Bruny exactly so.
Pictures taken 15.01.2012 and really do not show current conditions...
But still it befits that Styrian Triglav gets a place even with delay. mežikanje

I expected photos from mid-January and that mežikanje mainly from photo number 8, where snow still visible on former ski slope - due to north exposure under 782 m high Dreveniška gora...

Hello,
this morning I was at Boč at the tower from Poljčane. Conditions on the path are excellent, the path is trodden to the top, powder snow, weather for gods, towards the top there is quite a bit more snow. I warmly recommend this path as soon as possible.

Today my husband and I went to Boč instead of to work. Path excellent, trodden, really wonderful snow, weather excellent, sunny. From tower to hut even nicer, as it goes down like on ski slope. At hut there was a bunch of playful kids, as hillocks and weather were made for toddlers.
Thanks for info, very useful to me.

Yesterday on Shrove Saturday 18.2. did a hike to Boč summit via Balunjača and descent past the mountain hut and over Baba to the starting point. Trail well trodden except under Balunjača caution not superfluous as very steep otherwise chains out of snow. At summit calm no wind nicely warm so this hike really a pleasure. More pics here.

Today afternoon to Boč to RTV tower from Studenice - start on old Roman road then easy km and elevation gain on forest road. Total under 20 km up and down guaranteed nice training and over 700m elevation. Due north and east exposure unlike plain more ,,northern vibe,, dry snow and late afternoon - few sunny flashes...Today met no one - not even Slovenian army and hunters LD Poljčane in 3h activity seen nowhere with jeeps animals resting quieter spots wisely saving energy winter not waved goodbye yet. Windless pure air unlike valley chimneys already smoking hard.

On Friday 2.3., my colleague and I ascended from Studenice first on monastery educational trail, then off-trail to Boč summit. Trail dry, weather sunny and too hot for March. We returned along ridge back to Studenice. Interesting and very varied trail.

Although no pasque flowers yet (how do they know when, even I check calendar?zmeden) today choice fell on Boč. From Zgornje Poljčane up educational trail over Balunjača to summit down shady trail past hut where in nicest companynasmeh drink coffee and over Baba back. All descriptions on best hiking site of course. Weather all day smiling face trails muddy dry. View tower panoramic views when realize Slovenia not that small. Nice mountain visit idea for short hike when no time or need stretch after hard day.

I always visit Boč during pheasant's eye bloom and it's earlier each year, as for all vegetation generally. My visit was March 21st and on Boč summit snowdrops blooming, below hut pheasant's eye. Shady spot still some snow patches and of course first mountain dandelion for salad.
