On the path between Kofce gora and Kladivo I came across a dipper with chicks. Mom was perched on the lower side of the path. When I approached she started walking slowly along the path - about 50 m and only then left the path and flew back where I found them.

Fluttering of bird wings draws me to look into the cherry tree crown right by the house. When I climb up I notice a pigeon nest in the thicket of young branches.

In the photo it's a wood pigeon (Columba palumbus). Both the Eurasian collared dove (Streptopelia decaocto) and the wood pigeon belong to the pigeon family (f. Columbidae).

This young blackcap fledgling wasn't able to fly yet but I left it to nature anyway so parents can find it.

Yesterday I went to Kočevska Reka to watch for white-tailed eagle. I was lucky really saw it. Then I checked out bunker Škrilj too. No photos from there cuz photography forbidden. But friendly guide presented bunker nicely with bunch of historical info and construction circumstances.

I doubt the guide told it as it really was. Inhabitants of all those villages were forcibly relocated at the start of the fifties of the last century and villages and all churches and other religious markers demolished.

She said less than 30 religious landmarks remained of the original almost 130. Inhabitants were relocated; the wider closed area, she said, covered 200 sq km.

In front of the church there's a walnut tree over 300 years old.

77blaz - you were lucky to see it. When we went 05.05. this year further there for narcissus we didn't see it. Maybe we were too noisy.
