Both roosters are Slovenian, the only difference is that the one from @ločanke is "from abroad" zavijanje z očmi

Yes, it's true. One wouldn't believe how big this rooster is when spreading its wings. I don't know how to defend myself without sticks. He was afraid of them. Of course he didn't feel them. He was ringed. I photographed him on Blegoš.

Yesterday 27.12. around noon I observed this flock of birds. I assume they are cranes and there are 48 "individuals". They flew in direction NE - SW over Brezovica near Ljubljana. Actually they flew over the motorway Ljubljana-Vrhnika. (poor photo quality - phone)

@ miri, when (date) did you have the encounter with that ringed rooster?

@ en-goldy, great info on cranes. I already thought they were all in warm places, but there are still some latecomers nasmeh

yeah, pikica, you are a real expert and not only that, birds like you too... Your home is really visited by a whole palette of various birds, and you catch them well in the lens. velik nasmehnasmehmežikanje

@zlatica it really is an interesting bird especially because of its beak. It feeds on conifer seeds, in this period from January to April it also nests.
First time I saw a crossbill so up close. Usually I observe them from quite far away, when they perch high in the tree branches.
Small group of crossbills photographed last autumn below Viševnik1

pikica1, you can't even imagine that it can "catch" some seed with that crossed beak. Nature is really interesting. It provides for everything. nasmehmežikanje

This winter I accepted the challenge - photographing small visitors to the home feeder (photos 1-15), a few times I also took the camera to Šmarna gora and Tivoli. I'm not quite sure about some names, please correct me if anything is wrong...
