Jbv, I think it's an Italian grenade, they shelled each other, but the Italians had much heavier artillery and more ammo, Rombon never fell despite heavy shelling, the Bosnians had a gun in a cavern as far as I know on Rombon and shelled the infantry and targets towards Črnelska špica and other peaks where the Italians were, nasmeh

On Tuesday 28.7.2020 we headed again to this end of our beautiful mountains and this time did the tour (almost) to the end velik nasmeh

We tackled the ridge our way, skipped the first part and started at the saddle between Lopa and Vršiči pod Lopo (Forca sopra Medon). From there, the steep west slope of Lopa, continued along the ridge all the way to Grdi and Hudi Vršič, then descended along the east ridge to the col between Hudi Vršič and Velika Črnelska špica. Here our ridge walking ended, the ascent of the west ridge of VČŠ didn't seem "needed", so we took the marked path, then over Mala Črnelska špica down the ridge to the valley and in scorching heat back to Prevala, then to Neveo. zavijanje z očmi

One of my favorite ridge traverses, solitary, scenic, quite comfortable, with lots of interesting flora and of course history. Maybe third time lucky and next time we do it fully, as planned. velik nasmehcool

As always, a few more sentences about the long day can be found HERE mežikanje

Nice tour, especially since you did it from the valley.
On the ridge from Prevala there are no IIIs anywhere. Even that grassy ascent to VČŠ isn't as steep as it looks.

4.9.2021/The ridge path from Prevala to Konjske police is pure fantasy; today it didn't show in that light. Already the view from Krnica wasn't too promising, nevertheless I went towards adventures. Direct ascent from Krnica under Forca sopra Medon through mists to Golovec, continue along the ridge to the foot of Lopa because complete fog follows, descend to the scree on the north side of Lopa and bypass it. In the continuation of the traverse, fog and searching for passages alternate. Occasionally the fog completely stops me, I wait, think and do photo shooting. When I arrive at Konjske police I breathe a sigh of relief, slowly give up Hudi vršič and descend to the ridge at Bandera, don't linger too much. Through the gate under Vratni vrh descend to Krnica and along goat paths to the car.
just the view from the cirque to Lopa does not promise much1
At the flag and Vratni vrh, I will descend via it2
directly from the cirque my way, and through the right passage. under forc. sopra medon3
on Golovec4
in beautiful company5
view to the other side crystal clear6
notable 13. here it started happening,, I didn't see Lopa anymore7
Our side above the cirque is in fog all the time8
I continue towards Lopa,,when the path closed on me and I needed to think I was doing photoshooting9
Prestreljenik shows itself every now and then10
when Lopa completely hides from me I descend to the north side and bypass it on the scree,,no other way11
it still does not take pity on me12
back on the ridge,,two worlds13
I continue in the hope that I will have luck to reach the end14
promising no.15
I felt like in a horror movie16
towards H.Vršič it opens up a bit but not for long so I give up on it too17
above the basin I arrive in a new world18
below 2200m asl it's a different picture,,peak at Bandera,,I go higher to take the souvenir I got under Konjske police19
piece of grenade I bring to the top,,little man that I recently repaired,,stands proudly in background ridge with Lopa still holds in fog20
another solitary curious person21
through the gate under Vratni vrh descend to the cirque and further to the car22

Yesterday, 30.7.24, I traversed the ridge from Prevala over Lopa to Velika Črnelska. That narrowest part didn't even seem narrow to me, almost the scrambling along the ridge to that point seemed harder (exposure).
To Lopa without problems, the passages offer themselves.
On the descent from Hudi vršič I complicated my life a bit and made a big detour velik nasmeh
Ascent to Črnelska practically only on grass that was still wet, but no problems. Tufts of grass are excellent holds.
Followed only by too hot descent back on the marked path.
Start a little below Krnica pasture1

Approximate direction of descent from Hudega vršiča. I recommend the descent marked by the orange line :D8
Vrtnarski ascent above Velika Črnelo. Sheep block the easier bypass :D9
