Description:
Normally we do Scheinbergspitze in winter from north-east with touring skis – reasonably tracked quite avalanche-safe (if you don't ski into the slope below the summit, which is wild slab territory anyway, the descent is safe too; there have been several avalanche accidents in the slope below the summit). But today we skipped the skis (thin snow!) and preferred mountain boots with crampons from the south. Since we started early, we were completely alone the whole ascent. Really a nice winter hike on an Ammergau parade peak – just quite different.
