Too little snow for off-piste ski touring - what to do? Winter hiking. On New Year's Day no need to overdo it - so a half-day tour to Breitenstein. Recommended; dumplings would help, but today it went fine without. Up via Kesselalm and down Bucheralm with quiet Bockstein makes a nice loop right on Munich's doorstep, not completely solitary but not overcrowded either.
