Description:
White ptarmigan, Lagopus mutus, is about 34-37 cm long with a wingspan of 55-60 cm, weight from 330 to 560 gr. (Comparable to a pigeon)
Plumage color changes with seasons to camouflage better, totally white in winter with black beak, in summer female resumes brown-reddish color, male brown-gray, both beaks become brown.
