JAVORNÍKY - Veľký Javorník and Stratenec 25.7.2020
Veľký Javorník (1,071.5 m a.s.l.) is the highest peak of the Javorníky. It lies near the Slovak-Czech border, about 15 km northwest of Bytča. The peak is part of a mountain ridge that stretches approximately in a west-northeast direction. However, it does not follow the state border, which runs about half a kilometer to the west. The peak is crossed by the watershed between the Váh and Morava rivers. Thanks to its elevation and deforested areas, the summit offers distant views of surrounding peaks and neighboring mountains, but the unique view is of the Moravian-Silesian Beskydy.
