Description: Short but very scenic snowshoe hike in this basin from which numerous ascents to important peaks of Valle Varaita start. This excursion is suitable for snowshoe beginners and children due to the moderate elevation gain (500 m) and safe route. In the video, taken roughly halfway across the plateau, I start from the descent view with Monte Ferra on the right, Monte Salza appears, on the left Testa di Malacosta, below it the famous Rocca Senghi. Moving on, the east side of Monte Pance is seen (to keep in mind in case of heavy snowfall, it releases its avalanches on the ascent route), then Monte Faraut. We arrive at the view of one of the many gias on the plateau, the ascent view, the bulk of Rocca La Marchisa is noticeable with the sun about to rise, on the left the smooth slanted wall of Pic delle Sagneres, and then the long ridge of Costa Sturana.
