The highlight of our MTB holiday in VALLE MAIRA Mt. Bellino 2850 m an absolute high alpine undertaking! The summit is usually still snow-covered in summer, we were lucky no snow fields anymore, but dense fog instead. First however it was to tackle the highest rideable Western Alps pass COLLE COLLETTA 2830 m on a very bumpy and strenuous military track. With own muscle power absolutely HARDCORE! Then still HARDCORE pushing passage to Mt Bellino - though only 20 elevation meters, but laborious, terrain-wise steep narrow laid out climb with loose granite slabs and all in dense fog. Transition to Colle Bellino 2804 m. Then finally the downhill! Entry on narrow exposed trail - due to dense fog we could only guess the exposure. And suddenly the fog cleared and a insane scenery opened up before us. JUBILATION endless, a pleasure trail - speechless! Further on raspy alpine gravel track and enters at Chiappera the asphalt road. An incredible MTB adventure that gave us the highest feelings of happiness.
