Description:
The castle was built in the mid-13th century in the inaccessible terrain of the Nitra Hills. In the periods of the 15th and 16th centuries, wealthy lords led numerous property disputes over this late Romanesque fortress, which often changed owners. The castle belonged among others to Matúš Čák Trenčiansky, Sigmund of Luxembourg, and finally passed to the Zay family.
