Description:
The nearly triangular, 80 m long and up to 50 m wide castle complex is located on the so-called Little Meander Hill, a high-rising rock cone that drops perpendicularly to the Kamp in parts, 1.7 kilometers south-southeast of Altenburg. The castle hill on the left bank of the Kamp is surrounded by the river on three sides and is connected to the northern hinterland only by a narrow, saddle-like land bridge.
