From Bivio at the Julier Pass road, we first hike on the historic trail from Roman times in the direction of the Septimer Pass. A marked hiking trail soon branches off to the Roccabella, a mountain with beautiful views which is also a popular ski touring destination in winter. We climb over easy grass slopes to the highest point with a spectacular view of the Julier Pass and the Piz Julier. On the way back, we choose a more adventurous and difficult route and descend pathless on the other side of the mountain over steep grass slopes down into the valley.
