Windy weekend from the west for the southeast of the peninsula with orange alert. We decided to go to the north face of Sierra Nevada to avoid the Poniente wind. Right decision! Because the gullies are sheltered from the wind and we can enjoy a great mountain day. We were driving on the motorway in Valle del Zenete, apparently the blue sky seemed harmless, all mountains whitish and snow at low altitudes. We passed through Huéneja town, following road A-4103, over the bridge of río Izfalada or Huéneja. We took the first road to our right, there are informative signs at the junction. It takes us to the recreational area Los Castaños, a place that honors its name with huge centennial chestnut trees.
