Description:
My original plan was to run up to Big Sandy Lake then around Black Joe lake, summit Wind River peak then traverse over to East Temple and then run back down to Big Sandy. However, after talking to a friendly stranger on the way to Big Sandy I decided to amend my route by climbing back up to Temple after East Temple and then continuing along the ridge to Schiestler Peak and back down to the Trail head. Turns out lots of deadfall, non existent trails, and dangerous down climbs were all that stood between me and success. The Wind River Range is a remote, challenging place that is always full of character building surprises.
