Description:
I did this hike on Pentecost Sunday 2020. Starting from Utecht on Lake Ratzeburg, it first goes up to the approximately 80m high Utechter Berg with distant views. From there to the former village of Neuhof, which fell victim to the GDR's border security measures, and finally with views on the 'Zickzackweg' to Campow on Lake Ratzeburg, a village that experienced a tourist boom as a summer resort at the beginning of the 20th century, before a major fire in 1945 and then the direct border location put an end to tourism. As a bonus, some historical postcards from around 1900 to 1945 will be shown. Then back to the starting point. Of course, a detour to Lake Ratzeburg must not be missing.
