Burgsee is a lake below Schlossberg in Gadebusch. On Schlossberg, where the Renaissance castle stands today, there was a Slavic castle, the core of the town Gadebusch, which has had town rights since 1226 and later temporarily served as seat of Mecklenburg dukes.
