Above the village of Dolná Poruba in the Trenčín district, near Dubnica nad Váhom, rises Slopský vrch to 789 m a.s.l., belonging to the Strážovské vrchy Mountains. Its name evoking "slopping" denotes waterlogged places and water-filled pits, of which there are several on the peak. Several springs are also located on these slopes, for example, the Dubnický potok stream, a tributary of the Váh, originates here. The summit of Slopský vrch, offering beautiful views of the adjacent valley and nearby and distant peaks, is partially deforested with a white double cross.
