Grossglockner - "South Wall Guardian", 600 m, WI 6-, M 7; Approach 1 hr, Climbing 7 hrs, Descent 2 hrs.

Character: An imposing, very impressive line on Austria's highest mountain. The route lies exactly between Stüdlgrat (SW Ridge) and the lesser-known South Ridge, mainly following the prominent chimney straight up to Glocknerschartl. Steep ice steps alternate with rock sections.
