Description: Sněžka (Pol. Śnieżka, Ger. Schneekoppe) is the highest peak in the Krkonoše, Sudetes, Silesia and the entire Czech Republic. It has an elevation of 1,603.3 m a.s.l.<br>It is a significant landmark of the eastern part of the Krkonoše. The Czech-Polish border passes over the Sněžka summit, with the highest point on the Polish side, a few meters west of St. Lawrence Chapel. A 4.5 km long cable car leads to the summit from Pec pod Sněžkou. The northern, Polish side falls into the Lomnička River valley, the western into the Úpská rašelina, the southwestern part into Obří důl, the southeastern into the Jelení potok valley and the eastern passes into Obří hřbet.
