The Valasco Valley offers numerous beautiful ski mountaineering tours. The spring period with settled snow offers the most possibilities and variants. The access road is open to Tetti Gaina in the municipality of Valdieri, about 10 km downstream, so plan about three and a half hours to reach the hut on skis. The hut opens in winter, weather permitting, from mid-February on weekends and holidays and by reservation. It is still necessary to contact the manager (+39 347 0531456) for information on snow conditions and avalanches as the approach passes exposed slopes requiring safe snow conditions. The hut is also an interesting base for traverses on the Italian and French sides.
