We climb trail 525 which ascends a steep detrital slope, passing under the cable car and reach Rifugio Toni Demetz at Forcella del Sassolungo 2681m. We descend north under the Sassolungo wall into a detritus valley and arrive at Rifugio Vicenza 2253m. We continue the descent on trail 526 keeping right, first flat among larches then slight ascent climbing from nearby Piz Ciaulonch, or Col de Mesdì from where the panorama on Val Gardena, Odle and Puez group is admired. We proceed east on trail 526 passing over debris under Sassolungo walls and on grassy meadows in gentle ascent reach Rifugio Comici. We continue on a track among meadows and a stunning panorama towards Sella group and Marmolada and crossing Città dei Sassi return to Passo Sella.
