Always a nice tour, although the ascent over Varignano to S. Giovanni is not exactly flat. Once you've made the uphill, it's definitely worth stopping at Ristoro S.Giovanni, enjoying culinary delights on the terrace with a dreamlike Lake Garda view. Strengthened, continue a bit further on asphalt to the houses in Mercarie, then gravel path to the next highest point in open meadow terrain. Panorama back to Mt Casalerücken and to Brenta. Briefly downhill already, then a crisp gravel ramp uphill to the highest point 1154 m. From here in intervals on well rideable gravel path to Gorghi. Follows a grippy downhill to Croce di Bondiga, where you pause briefly and enjoy the deep view to Riva and Lake Garda. Further on grippy gravel track to point Treni. From here again a good km uphill and transition to point Rancion. Here sharp left downhill to the entrance of Vandrinotrail. Normally a light speedy flow trail. After heavy thunderstorms, however, as we had, partly a stream bed and quite tricky and to watch out. In between you really rip. Through the vineyards of Vandrino and to Tenno. Continue on the panorama road through vineyards and olive groves at Volta di No back to Varignano.
