We are in the Upper Ellero Valley, in the Municipality of Roccaforte Mondovì, where the beautiful and extensive plateau called Pian Marchisio is located, from which the homonymous stream originates. Tall trees are practically absent, and where the herds do not graze, the most common alpine arc azalea, the rhododendron (Rhododendron ferrugineum), has widely spread: at the end of spring – beginning of summer, the human eye delights in the exuberance of color, ranging through all the various shades of red, from carmine to pale pink.
