Val Viola, where the namesake hut is located, is a beautiful valley in Upper Valtellina halfway between the tourist resorts of Bormio and Livigno.
The hike we propose is an interesting loop that, ascending the right orographic side of the valley, meets a series of huts, Agriturismo Baita Caricc, Rifugio Federico al Dosdé, Lago Viola, Rifugio Viola and finally Passo Val Viola. Val Viola is very sunny because it is oriented from east to west and therefore the route can also be done in spring or autumn.
