Hike on 06 January 2023. Start above Paspardo (BS), village in middle Valcamonica, towards Cima Barbignaga 2367m. Route about 1300m elevation gain, 14km not difficult suitable for all, passes first Rifugio Colombè (https://instagram.com/rifugio_colombe) 1710m reachable by car in summer. From here view over all Valcamonica to Lago d'Iseo, opposite Concarena and left Pizzo Badile that accompanied us with its splendor and north iced wall, premise we know area well and been many times, from refuge in about 1.30h to Cima Barbignaga 2467m panorama over valley to whole Adamello group, peaks ReCastello and Pizzo Badile almost touchable! Back to refuge for lunch notice change of management (previously Matogrosso). Refuge owned by Paspardo commune renovated modernized, managed since summer 2022 by Massimo and staff welcomed with smile sympathy promptness, kitchen by Brescian cook with experience in Trentino refuges hotels, ranges from Camun specialties (casoncelli camuni) to Trentine (canederli).. polenta with deer rabbit or local cheeses, abundant salumi boards and more... homemade desserts. What to say though known place for years new management impressed surprised deserve compliments for details dedication, 2 dorms 40 beds, open 22 Dec to 8 Jan and all weekends (reservation appreciated).
