Spectacular high-altitude tour in view of Monviso.
When I imagine a high-altitude climb, it's just like this, a not too tiring ascent and an exciting descent.
After 3.5 hours by car from Cantù Cermenate we arrive at about 1650m in Pontechianale where we emerge from the fog found up to about 1500m and find an intense blue sky from north wind. We park in the large free space near the chairlift, out of the parking lot we take the road to Colle dell'Agnello, after about 500m we find signs on the right for rifugio Savigliano, la Salette, and pedal on easy asphalted mule track up to about 1800m then dirt with excellent surface but steep in places.
