The locality Horná skala in the Kremnica Mountains between Banská Bystrica and Kremnica is one of 76 localities included since December 1, 2021, in the newly declared nature reserve Pralesy Slovenska. The primeval forest is located near the well-known Badín Primeval Forest, which has been protected at the 5th level for more than 100 years.
