Every two years the world's best ski mountaineers challenge each other in the great ski alp classic between Cervinia and Gressoney-La-Trinité, the Trofeo Mezzalama. Of the 3 four-thousanders, in the end, not even one was tackled. The storm swept away the original course of the Trofeo Mezzalama which was modified again this morning. Out Castore, out Lyskamm, out Roccia della Scoperta, but the favored alpini won again. The fourth consecutive for the Army. The 'white marathon', in the end even harder and more demanding, was won by Michele Boscacci, Robert Antonioli and Matteo Eydallin who triumphed in 4 hours 45'30", with a record for Eydallin who for the fifth time won the spectacular ski mountaineering race run between Breuil-Cervinia and Gressoney-La-Trinité, in Valle d’Aosta. Second place at 04:48:21" for Italian William Boffelli in team with Swiss Werner Martin and Martin Anthamatten. Kilian Jornet Burgada, who changed team to attempt the attack on the alpini, had to settle for third place, together with Austrians Jakob Hermann and Armin Hoefl, behind by 04:49:21.
