Pfaffenstein 1,865 m – via the "Eisenerzer" Via Ferrata

From the entry point at 1,530 m altitude, reachable from the parking lot in about 90 minutes, this wonderful via ferrata leads over 300 meters of elevation gain to the summit of Pfaffenstein (1,865 m).
The route is excellently secured, maintained, and varied, leading partly very airy and exposed through the walls of Pfaffenstein. The summit offers a wonderful panorama of the surrounding mountains, the landmark of Eisenerz, the Erzberg, and breathtaking deep views. As a descent option, the Markussteig is recommended, leading back to the starting point (parking lot) in the valley.
