Description: Today I take you to King Ortler, the highest mountain in South Tyrol. The normal route starts in Sulden with the Langenstein chairlift up to the K' Hut or restaurant mountain station. From there to Tabaretta Hut and the steep path up to Payer Hut at 3029 m past Bärenkopfscharte. Overnight at the hut and early morning start over Ortlergrat and climbing sections like 'Weiberschrecke' or 'Wandl' - most sections secured with chains. Then with crampons most elevation meters over Schrübben Glacier, past Lombardi Bivouac and finally over Ortler Plateau past Ortlerauge to the summit.
