Description:
Lankow on the lake of the same name was a village that existed until 1976. Then it fell victim to border security measures of the former GDR after evacuation and was razed to the ground.
In the meantime, nature has reclaimed the area, but remnants of foundations can still be recognized here and there. A memorial stone erected by former residents commemorates the village on the slope of Baarsberg above Lankower See!
