Description: How does an oil drilling tower end up in the Mátra? The Sástó lookout tower is 53 meters high, manufactured in Romania and originally intended for Algyő near Szeged as an oil drilling tower, but it was not used for that purpose because during assembly it was found not to meet Hungarian standards. After minor modifications, it arrived at Sástó in 1973, replacing the previous 10 m high wooden lookout tower built in 1961.
