Description: The town of Laufenburg on the Upper Rhine was divided into 2 towns in 1801 by new political borders. On the German Rhine bank there was Klein Laufenburg from then on, now Laufenburg/Baden, the part of the town on the Swiss side Laufenburg, today Laufenburg AG (Aargau). The two towns are directly connected by a stone bridge and festivities are celebrated together.
