The entire area is dominated by the beauty of the river that forms an endless number of lagoons and consecutive waterfalls.
Huancaya is at the center of an area declared a Landscape Reserve (along with Vilca and Vitis, among others) forming the Nor Yauyos-Cochas Landscape Reserve and is considered one of the most beautiful places in Peru.
