A few weeks ago we visited Lake Bohinj. It seems normal in Slovenia to drive kayaks on the car roof. Just be careful not to park outside the designated parking around the lake as fines are high. At the machine we could pay max two hours parking so we topped up with some weird combination of credit card and WhatsApp. In winter, due to steep cliffs, much of the lake is in shade. We'll return in spring.
