Imposing granite monolith named after its curious shape, Cima del Frate is located in a wild and little-frequented area of the Lagorai ... from the Spiado location, take trail 365 which climbs towards Malga Fierollo di Sotto, where it is abandoned to follow 366 towards Malga Fierollo di Sopra, the Laghetti della Bella Venezia (or what's left of them) and the homonymous baito ... climb towards Forcella Fierollo but shortly before reaching it at a junction the 366B branches off to the right leading to Cima and Cresta del Frate where traces of the Great War are still evident with galleries, trenches, walkways and staircases in the rock ... retrace back to the junction and resume 366 towards the pass to cross it and descend to Lago di Mezzo and reach Malga Rava di Sopra ... continue to join 332 which descends along Val di Rava, and after Malga Ravetta di Sotto join 365 which passes through the bridge over Rio Gallina and Malga Rava di Sotto, and continues through the woods towards Fierollo di Sotto and then back to the parking lot.
