Many climbers consider Khan Tengri the most beautiful peak in the world because of its symmetry. At sunset, the summit often lights up in an intense red due to the mountain, which is largely composed of marble rock. The Kazakh name Kan Tau means 'Blood Mountain' in relation to this phenomenon.
