Description: Only the towering remains of the once five- or six-story bergfried with walls more than three meters thick rise above the treetops of the forest and serve as a landmark for finding the former castle from the 12th century. The bergfried once ranked among the most powerful in Central Europe and was blown up in 1688. Only a steeply rising corner remained of it and thus forms the landmark of the complex. The remains of the castle chapel are also still clearly recognizable. The ditches of the double ring wall are still visible. Somewhat below the main castle, walls and tower remains of the former outer bailey of the fortification can still be found.
