Important note: The Stettiner Hütte was destroyed by an avalanche and only partially rebuilt. Overnight stays are not possible for the time being – as of 2015!
From Pfelders (1622 m; good asphalt road from Moos in Passeier) on the wide trail No. 8 (no vehicles!) in 1 hour flat into the valley to Lazinser Kaser at the end of the valley (1858 m; refreshments). From there either on the wide, comfortably winding trail No. 8 (longer but much easier) or on the marked shortcut trail (shorter but steep and strenuous) up to a rocky little valley (beautiful glacier polish on marble rock here; nearby a ruined customs hut) and with moderate ascent further to the Stettiner Hütte; 4 hrs from Pfelders. From the hut now on the well-marked, partially slightly exposed but overall easy rocky trail through the south flank of the mountain up to about 3150 m. From here the old path was closed due to rockfall danger (see also prohibition sign), the new ascent route continues to the left. Some rope protections and steps secure the partially exposed trail to the summit. 2 hrs from the hut.
