Wonderfully impressive and at the same time the highest mountain range of the Berchtesgaden Alps, with a variety of summits awaiting their ascent. On the Hochkönig summit at 2,941 m altitude is the Matrashaus, which can be reached in a day tour starting from Arthurhaus on the normal route with the necessary fitness. Not only for mountain hikers but also for sport climbers, the most varied routes lead through the walls of the Hochkönig massif with its approximately 12 km² large high plateau. Particularly imposing is the Mandlwand located on the south side with its bizarre towers and pillars. Whether hiker, mountaineer or climber or in winter ski tourer and last but not least for skiers who find a variety of dream ski slopes and descents here in this wonderful region, here everyone finds something suitable for their passion.
